The Small Things That Count
Brief:
Create and conceptualise a thought-provoking piece of micrographics designed to be situated or embedded somewhere in Nottingham.

Solution:
I created two fun sized furry friends, Dot and Akiko, that are the protagonists in a large-scale game of hide and seek. This concept was inspired by the need for people to go outside more, explore their city, socialise and have fun together.

Process:
Here I studied how to make these characters seem friendly and I did this by making them rounder and fluffy looking with approachable facial expressions. I could have made the figures out of a felt like material to match their cuddlesome nature, but I chose to make them out of clay so that when they are placed around the city they are less likely to be destroyed. The nought and crosses board was an addition that maybe wouldn't be part of the main outcome, but just adds to the notion of community and fun using the characters.
