Brief:
Turn one of the supplied articles into a printed supplement which must be in the format of an 8-page booklet or a posterzine.

Solution:
My article by Rick Poynor was about the digital colourisation of documentary photos. To make this more personal to me, I chose to have my booklet feature some of my recent family photos in contrast with some older photos taken long before I was even born. By doing this, I created a chronological timeline of present to past when reading the article in my booklet.

Process:
During this process I experimented with screen printing and digital AI recolourisation as well as using the reflections from glasses to create these iridescent patterns for the booklet’s backgrounds. I also learned alot about my family tree through the sentimental images my mum provided of her and her siblings and mum. It was quite an emotional experience collating the past and present to create this piece, but I thoroughly enjoyed developing my typesetting skills in this way.
